Dalai Puma are kind of an Indie Rock BandTM, but queer, nerdy and cute. The trio from Zurich can be clearly identified by floral patterns, animal prints, and an inexplicable weakness for unsmoked cigarettes, ping-pong balls and newborn kittens. All three thirds of the musicians sing and play drums, bass and guitar. The cumulative swarm intelligence of Ramón Oliveras, Franziska Staubli and Yannik Sandhofer can almost sing in French, quite a bit in English, and also in German.
Dalai Puma take queerness, pop and fun very seriously for psychological, political and personal reasons. Cheerfully ignoring the concept of cost-benefit calculation, they celebrate shrill cuteness and plunge into the risk to mediocrity. And they do it pretty well!
