Supernova Easy is the name of the new band around songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Nick Furrer. The first EP "Severine" is released just in time for the start of their tour on November 8th - a teaser for the upcoming album "Supernova Easy" to be released in spring 2025.
Nick has continuously developed his personal musical path, most recently as long-time band member of the aspiring Swiss band "Black Sea Dahu". On the upcoming EP, he gives space to his collaborations with Cori Nora and Anuk Schmelcher.
In his artistic process Nick reflects upon ideas of masculinity and calls for vulnerability, painting a sonic universe of apocalyptic future romanticism. He is inspired by genre-transcending artists such as Tirzah or Beck. As a musician he seeks to find his role in the fight against patriarchy by researching his own emotional abysses.
He tours with the three multi-instrumentalists Cori Nora, Anuk Schmelcher and Jeremy Sigrist,who all sing and rotate instruments. This act of collective artistic expression gives the band its extraordinary luminosity.
Nick recorded on his own, at home and in his rehearsal room in Basel. He constantly shared song ideas with Cori Nora, who sings on "Supernova Easy" and "Severine", among others, and was involved in the songwriting of these two songs. On "Sign" we hear Anuk Schmelcher as singer and songwriter. This uncut live take was recorded by the trio at Suburban Sound Studio in Winterthur where Manuel Egger mixed all the songs.
