On Watertrees, Nick played and recorded all the instruments himself. Manuel Egger gave the song his characteristic mix. Handmade grooves and unconventional harmonies become Nick's trademark. He addresses the mania for self-optimisation, the greed for data and ignoring climate change. The fictional future persona dreams of a past world in which nature was still healthy.
